How much does a heat pump repair cost?
The diagnostic call-out is $190. It includes travel and the first hour on site. Repairs completed within that hour that do not require parts are included. Additional labour and replacement parts are charged separately. The total depends on the fault and what is needed to repair it.
What if the repair needs parts or more time?
Labour beyond the first hour is charged at our standard technician rate, and replacement parts cost extra. Talk with our team about the applicable labour rate and any parts costs when discussing your repair. A further visit may be needed if parts must be ordered.
Can you repair my heat pump on the first visit?
Some faults can be resolved during the initial visit. Others need replacement parts or further work. After diagnosing the problem, our technician can explain what is needed and the next steps.
Should I repair or replace my heat pump?
It depends on the age and condition of your system, the fault, parts availability and the repair cost. We can explain your repair options and provide a replacement quote if that is the more practical choice.
Can you help with a heat pump under warranty?
Yes, we can help assess a possible warranty repair. Coverage depends on the system and the manufacturer’s warranty terms. Have your brand, model and installation details ready when you contact us. If Blizzard did not install the unit, our $190 diagnostic charge applies when we are asked to assess and handle a warranty repair. Talk to our team about your situation before booking.
How soon can I book a repair?
Call 04 4999 649 with your suburb and a description of the problem, and our team will confirm available appointment times. An online booking is a request: your appointment is confirmed once we have agreed a time with you.
What should I have ready when I contact you?
Your suburb, heat pump brand and model if available, a description of the problem, and any error code. If you think it is under warranty, let us know when it was installed and who installed it.
What is defrost mode?
A heat pump may briefly stop heating while it defrosts its outdoor unit in cold weather. If it is not returning to normal heating or you are concerned about its performance, call our team to discuss whether a service visit is needed.
More of a clean than a repair?
Weak airflow or a musty smell can also be a sign your heat pump needs servicing. We can help you work out whether maintenance, a deeper Hydro Clean or a repair is the right next step.
