Ducted heat pump system

Ducted heat pump illustration. Ventilation equipment and air paths are a separate part of the design.

PLAN YOUR COMFORT

Two jobs that need a coordinated design.

A ducted heat pump manages indoor temperature. Ventilation introduces or exchanges air. A typical ducted heat pump recirculates indoor air, so adding heating and cooling alone does not automatically provide a fresh-air system.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL

Ducted heating and cooling

Choose a system and room coverage to suit your home. The heat pump, insulated ducts, outlets and return-air arrangement form the temperature-control part of the plan.

AIR EXCHANGE

Fresh-air ventilation

A suitable ventilation design considers the source of incoming air, extraction, filters and airflow through the home. We assess the building and your existing ventilation before recommending an approach.

RECOVERING ENERGY

Heat-recovery ventilation

A heat exchanger can transfer energy between outgoing and incoming air streams. Performance and suitability depend on the equipment, conditions and installation design.

DESIGNED AROUND YOUR HOME

Make the two systems work as a planned installation.

We explain the proposed arrangement before you decide.

Understand the home

We discuss stale air, condensation, existing extract fans, insulation and the rooms you want to condition.

Check equipment compatibility

Some combinations support integrated operation; others use separate controls. We confirm the arrangement for the actual products.

Allow enough space

Ventilation equipment, heat-pump equipment, ducts, filters and service access all need room.

Balance the airflow

Supply, extraction and transfer paths should be considered together, including what happens with internal doors closed.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Get clear on the details.

Useful answers about suitability, installation, controls and ongoing care.

Not necessarily. The design may use separate heat-pump and ventilation equipment, with controls coordinated where supported. Your proposal identifies the equipment and how it operates.

No system can guarantee that in every home. Moisture sources, extraction, insulation, glazing, heating and ventilation all influence condensation. We assess the likely contributors before recommending equipment.

Possibly. Tell us its make and model so we can assess its condition, air paths and compatibility with the proposed ducted installation.

No. Dry mode can remove moisture under suitable operating conditions, while ventilation deals with air exchange. They perform different jobs.
