CONTROL YOUR COMFORT
Daikin controls or AirTouch 5?
Discuss suitable Daikin controllers and zoning options, with Wi-Fi connectivity where supported. If you want a touchscreen and app-based zoning experience, we can also assess AirTouch 5 compatibility.
A controller alone is not the whole zoning system. We specify the required dampers, sensors and setup as part of the installation.
Choose how you want to use each area

- Temperature-based zone control with suitable sensors.
- Fresh-air ventilation considered alongside heating and cooling.
Compatibility and included features vary by model. A typical single ducted system uses one heating or cooling mode at a time.

Blizzard coordinates your HVAC and electrical installation, commissions the system and explains how to use it. Your written proposal sets out the selected equipment, controls and installation scope.
Daikin warranty & workmanship cover
Daikin provides a five-year parts-and-labour warranty for eligible domestic systems in New Zealand. Our Daikin installation packages also include a five-year Blizzard workmanship guarantee. Applicable conditions and the cover for your installation are explained with your proposal.

Can ducted heating be installed in an existing home?
Often, yes. We check ceiling or underfloor space, access, duct routes and the position of indoor and outdoor equipment. Where a ducted layout is impractical, we can explain other ways to condition the rooms you need.
How do I choose the right size system?
Start with the rooms you want to condition, rather than a model number. Floor area, insulation, ceiling height, glazing, sun exposure and Wellington’s winter conditions all affect the selection. Our example systems are starting points; the final capacity follows an assessment.
Can I control bedrooms separately from living areas?
With a suitable zoning design, rooms can be grouped or controlled as individual zones. Basic zoning controls where air goes. Temperature-based zoning also needs suitable sensors and controls. We plan the zones around the system’s minimum airflow requirements.
Does a ducted heat pump bring in fresh air?
A typical ducted heat pump recirculates indoor air for heating and cooling. Fresh-air ventilation is a separate design consideration. We can assess a ventilation or heat-recovery solution alongside the ducted system, including suitable airflow paths and controls.
What affects installation time and the work involved?
Access, the number of outlets and zones, electrical work and the complexity of the home all matter. We explain the proposed route, any building work and an expected installation schedule after assessing your property.
What should be included in my installation proposal?
Look for the indoor and outdoor system, outlet and return-air arrangement, duct insulation, controller, any zoning sensors or dampers, electrical work, commissioning and warranty terms. We explain the proposed inclusions and any property-specific work before you decide.
