A ducted heat pump manages indoor temperature. Ventilation introduces or exchanges air. A typical ducted heat pump recirculates indoor air, so adding heating and cooling alone does not automatically provide a fresh-air system.

A heat exchanger can transfer energy between outgoing and incoming air streams. Performance and suitability depend on the equipment, conditions and installation design.

Does adding ventilation mean one combined unit?
Not necessarily. The design may use separate heat-pump and ventilation equipment, with controls coordinated where supported. Your proposal identifies the equipment and how it operates.
Will it stop all condensation?
No system can guarantee that in every home. Moisture sources, extraction, insulation, glazing, heating and ventilation all influence condensation. We assess the likely contributors before recommending equipment.
Can I keep my existing ventilation?
Possibly. Tell us its make and model so we can assess its condition, air paths and compatibility with the proposed ducted installation.
Is a heat pump’s dry mode the same as fresh-air ventilation?
No. Dry mode can remove moisture under suitable operating conditions, while ventilation deals with air exchange. They perform different jobs.
